Game Flow

  • Opening possession is decided by a coin toss.
  • After a made basket: the defending team allows the offensive team to take the ball and clear it beyond the arc before beginning a new play. The defense may apply pressure during this clearance, but not within the no-charge zone.
  • After a defensive rebound or steal: the ball must be passed or dribbled beyond the arc before attempting to score again. (No need to clear after an offensive rebound.)
  • After a dead ball (e.g. foul or out-of-bounds): game resumes with a check-ball behind the arc, opposite the basket.
  • After a jump ball: possession goes to the defensive team (check-ball).
